Daily Program
Play is an integral part of our theme-based program. Our curriculum is child centered and developmentally appropriate. We emphasize hands-on, play based learning throughout our classrooms. Our monthly themes and weekly units are designed to include the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Our lesson plans are aligned with these standards. We adhere to the guidelines set forth by the state of Ohio. Our curriculum promotes the importance of the learning environment and encourages growth as children are free to explore a variety of creative experiences through art, science, dramatic play, and music. As they use their imagination, language skills are encouraged through play, stories, songs, finger plays, sharing and discussions. Reading readiness activities are part of our day—children develop pre-reading skills by rhyming, singing, reading stories, retelling stories, computers, as well as age appropriate activities. Small motor skills are strengthened by using art materials, puzzles, play dough, building blocks, and easel painting/drawing. Beginning math and science concepts are learned with block play, counting, calendar, and sorting. An outdoor play area with climbing equipment, riding toys, as well as, an indoor play (rumpus) room encourages large motor development.
Boulevard Presbyterian Church Preschool classrooms encourage children to play, learn and explore through a variety of activities.

At the center of every project and activity, there is a specially trained teacher and an age-appropriate theme-based curriculum to lead the way. By providing children with activities that match their developmental needs and abilities, learning occurs easily and naturally. In the classroom and on the playground, these concepts are integrated into all aspects of our daily schedule.
